Lifeline Northern Beaches
As part of a Regional church we are proud supporters for Lifeline Northern Beaches. A number of our church members across the NBUC are active volunteers. Our Minister, Rev. John Barker, has been an active member of Board of Lifeline Northern Beaches for over 10 years, and currently serves as Director. One of our church leaders, Helen Pook, is an active Lifeline telephone councillor and has been a volunteer of LLNB for many years.
The Lifeline Classic
Every year for the last 5 years our church has contributed to the now famous Lifeline Surf Classic competition event at Queenscliff Beach that raises vital funds for our local Lifeline Northern Beaches. Our team achieved first in 2020 and second in 2021 that combines fundraising efforts and of course surfing skills.
This year our team raised almost $5,000 towards the important work of Lifeline Northern Beaches.
“The Lifeline Classic is about celebrating our community coming together for the battle against suicide. This fundraising activity is a vital way for our church to connect with our wider community in such and important cause.”
Rev. John Barker
